The only way to start this is to say that our family took this pandemic very seriously. We brought our oldest child home from college, switched our youngest to training virtually and did not go anywhere for 4 months. We carefully sanitized all of the mail and groceries. We practiced social distancing if we had to go anywhere and we wore our masks.
Monday August 17, 2020 around noon our oldest said she was feeling sick and her stomach hurt. Within the hour of her saying that, she started vomiting and having diarrhea. That continued throughout the night. Tuesday morning August 18, 2020 we drove her to a testing site to get tested for Covid-19 even though we were sure she just had a stomach bug. We called her regular family practice doctor and asked to schedule an appointment. After hearing her symptoms we were told that she could not be seen by the doctor until she had a negative test for Covid. Wednesday morning she woke up feeling better. She came out of her room and joined us in the living room and even went with me to pick up groceries. Thursday morning we received a call that she was positive for Covid-19. She has to isolate herself for the next 10 days. We realized we had to be tested because we’ve been sharing a living spaces with her. As a family we were told we could not go anywhere for 24 days total. We are still waiting for the results of our covid tests. We have moved our youngest downstairs to our bedroom and bathroom so that our oldest has the upstairs bedroom and bathroom to herself. As of right now our oldest has no other symptoms. She’s never had a fever. For now I’m hoping the worst is over for her symptoms. Praying that the worst is over.
